Drew Lock is in it. And Sam Howell could go out.
ESPN reports that the Seahawks are Open to Trading HowellAnd that the SEAHAWKS have “received requests” from interested teams.
The Seahawks currently have four quarters under contract – Sam Darnold, Lock, Howell and Jaren Hall. Lock recently signed with Seattle.
Howell, who arrived in a trade last year with the commanders, entered the fourth year of his recruit agreement. It was a choice of fifth round in North Carolina in 2022.
During its second season, Howell started 17 games for Washington, launching 3,946 yards, 21 Touché passes and 21 interceptions at the top of the league.
Managing Director John Schenider recently told Seattle Sports 710-AM that the Seahawks were ready to let lock and Howell in competition for rescue work. Lock spent 2023 with the Seahawks before signing with the Giants in 2024.
“Sam was placed in a very difficult situation last year,” said Schneider, via Espn.com. “He entered, he learned a new system.
Schneider referred to the opportunity that Howll received when he entered an December match against packers, and only made five of the 14 passes for 24 yards and an interception.
The Seahawks were interested in Howell after finishing 29 of the 44 passes for 312 yards, three affected and no interception in a 29-26 victory in Seattle against Washington during the 2023 season.
Howell should win $ 1.1 million in 2025. He instantly became a candidate to be exchanged for a team who needs a quarter-back and who does not reach an appropriate perspective in the project or who is willing to meet the need before the project by concluding an agreement.
