The NFL international games can bring a significant warning, for some players and other employees of the team. Certain circumstances may prevent the player from leaving the country or entering a new one.
Mark Maske of Washington Post raised Thursday The question of whether the recent guilty plea of the recipient of the Rashee Rice chefs to a pair of crimes from a street race accident in March 2024 would complicate his entry into Brazil for the week 1 match against the charges.
Friday, Maske reported that Rice received authorization To travel with the team and enter Brazil for the September 5 match.
If, of course, the representatives of Rice and the NFL reached an agreement on a suspension before week 1, Rice would miss the match. There is currently no indication that an agreement is coming. Without one, Rice will have a disciplinary audience on September 30.
Unless the NFL decides to put it on paid leave (there is currently no reason to believe that this will happen), Rice will be available for at least the first four weeks of the season, and probably five. If there is an appeal of the sentence inflicted by judge Sue L. Robinson, Rice could be available for the first six games.
