Report: Nick Saban should be appointed co -president of the Presidential College Sports Commission

If you have been surprised by this one, we would like to sell your rights to the bridge of Brooklyn.

Confirming the report that President Trump Will form a commission on university sportsTheathletic.com reports that the former coach of Alabama (and the State of Michigan and Lsu and Miami) Nick Saban will be appointed co -president of the Commission.

The other co -president should be an “eminent businessman with deep ties with university athletics”.

Development should increase crimson flags for players who have finally obtained the freedoms that had been denied for years. Under the hold to solving a problem created by a corrupt system, the Commission will undoubtedly work to rebroadcast the rules of the game in favor of institutions – to the detriment of children who play university sports that generate income.

Saban’s point of view on the issue was clearly clear. Before resigning from his work as a head coach of Alabama, Saban said to himself: “Maybe it no longer works, that the goals and aspirations are simply different and that everything is How much money can I earn as an university player? ‘”

The oozing hypocrisy of this attitude, since Saban was constantly earning as much money as he could as college and professional coach.

Before that, Saban complained that the changes to the old ways, forced by the implosion of long -standing antitrust violations, threatened the parity of sport. The truth was that she threatened her ability to take advantage of the previous system, where there was little real parity – and where the Saban team dominated.

Saban wanted the parity of resources because he knew that, under these rules, he had the recruitment skills to take advantage of the parity of resources in the disparity of the results.

In 2023, Saban pleaded for a NFL style of style rules. But the NFL rules have been negotiated with a union operating as a multi-employee negotiation unit. This gives the 32 independent companies of the NFL an antitrust exemption, allowing a project and expenditure limits and rules concerning when and how a player can change teams.

The union approach is the best equitable way to solve the current problem. Colleges, however, want to have the twice, limiting the remuneration and mobility of players without having to deal with the rights and protections that a union could negotiate. And Saban will soon have a key position of influence when it comes to trying to browse the congress a law that will give colleges what they want: the ability to promulgate radical rules without having to grant players the power of collective negotiation.

If it works, maybe Saban will return to training. Especially if the new rules have no impact how much it can be paid, or when and how it can jump from one school to another.
