Derek Carr retired from the NFL last week, but apparently not before looking for a release from New Orleans to continue his career.
Katherine Terrell and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN report that A Carr “representative” spoke to at least two teams On the potential interest in the veteran quarterrier. The “indirect” contact allowed these offices to know that Carr is open to play for a new team.
ESPN reports that the saints have not given Carr permission to speak with other teams, as required by the rules of the NFL.
But the conversations have never gone anywhere – with the guaranteed salary of $ 30 million in Carr and the $ 10 million bonus that does not help its attractiveness – and a torn right labrum and “significant degenerative changes in its rotator cuff” prompted Carr to call it.
The saints probably did not have the heart broken by the decision of Carr, Carr and the new staff lacking a relationship. The new coach Kellen Moore sent mixed signals to the fact that Carr as the team’s starter in 2025 and, in fact, he never even met the quarter-Arrière in person, by ESPN.
Carr now takes time with his family, having avoided surgery, and the saints evolve with the choice of second round Tyler Shough among those who compete for the departure position.
