Rep. Mike Collins says racist trope is not the ‘focus’ of video he shared of Ole Miss counterprotesters

Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) on Monday denounced racism and discrimination several days after sharing a video of counterprotesters at the University of Mississippi that included a photo of a participant making gestures and noises of monkey in front of a black woman.

This decision came after Collins Friday shared on X a video counter-protesters shouting at pro-Palestinian demonstrators on the University of Mississippi campus while hailing the actions as “Ole Miss taking care of business.”
