Rep. Boebert’s apparent midterm victory has liberal pundits swallowing their words
Democratic challenger Adam Frisch’s concession to incumbent Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., in their extremely close race for Boebert’s seat in the U.S. House, sheds new light on the views of liberal pundits who were cheering of what seemed to them to be his impending doom.
By the time Frisch had conceded defeat to Boebert near the end of a vote count that lasted about a week and a half, left-wing pundits had littered Twitter and cable news networks with cheery, celebratory statements that she would not return to Congress for a second term.
By the end of the race, Boebert had built up a very slim lead over Frisch, the former Aspen City Councilman. Although the contest ended up being so close that it will likely require a recount under Colorado state law, Frisch conceded, saying in a statement on his Facebook page, “The likelihood of this recount changing more than ‘a handful of votes is very low.’
BOEBERT’S COLORADO HOUSE SEAT MAY RETURN TO COUNT AGAINST DEMOCRATIC CHALLENGER
According to Reuters, Frisch claimed he didn’t want to “raise money from supporters for an effort that wouldn’t be successful.”
The derogatory barbs made by pundits ahead of his lead, and his now likely victory, showed the contempt leading liberals have for the outspoken GOP lawmaker. Needless to say, each of these statements has aged badly.
The harshest statement came from DNC strategist and former “Lincoln Project” adviser Kurt Bardella. He went so low that he joked during an appearance on MSNBC anchor Joy Reid’s show that the congresswoman might have to look for a new job in the adult entertainment industry.
During MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” episode, Bardella claimed that losing Boebert would be a “gain for OnlyFans,” a porn-based social media platform.
Elie Mystal, a frequent MSNBC guest and reporter for The Nation, made a similar claim. OutKick.com reporter Bobby Burack captured what Mystal said in a tweet that he quickly deleted after it was posted. He asked, “Does…Lauren Boebert always lose? Guess it’s OnlyFans next star Ted Cruz’s lucky day to be a congressman.”
Mystal also mocked Boebert in a tweet last week when she trailed Frisch in the race. Seeing his deficit, he wrote, “I peed my pants when they flashed that Boebert number.”
Pleading for his loss, he added: “Please, please, please.”
BOEBERT THUMBS AHEAD AS COLORADO VOTES CONTINUE TO BE COUNTED
Prominent Twitter liberal and former Obama campaign staffer Jon Cooper called the race too early on the Wednesday after Election Day. He tweeted: “I’ve seen enough. In a HUGE upset, Democrat Adam Frisch has DEFEATED Lauren Boebert, one of Trump’s most ardent – and despicable – supporters.”
The Lincoln Project’s Rick Wilson made a bad prediction, tweeting, “Lauren Boebert is going down harder than Donald Trump on the Mar a Lago waffle station.”
So did Democratic digital strategist Jack Cocchiarella, who tweeted on Election Day: “Lauren Boebert will not be a member of the 118th Congress.”

Even former White House press secretary and current MSNBC contributor Jen Psaki responded to the bad calls, tweeting, “Just a shout out to my dad who lives in his neighborhood and told me last month that @ laurenboebert could lose and i didn’t believe him.”
Democratic Party strategist Adam Parkhomenko tweeted: “Lauren Boebert hasn’t tweeted in 34 hours. Her last tweet was ‘The Red Wave has begun’. With 99% of the vote she still loses her election.”
