FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZ Family) — Search teams have found the body of Kelly Paduchowski, 45, who disappeared from her Flagstaff home last weekend.
Details surrounding how and where Paduchowski’s remains were found were not immediately released, but the Flagstaff Police Department confirmed his body was found around 10 a.m. Friday.
Kelly went missing on Sunday, June 30.
As Arizona’s Family previously reported, her husband reported her missing that night, saying she had left earlier in the day to go running and swimming.
Flagstaff police and the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office quickly began searching for her. Her husband, Daniel Paduchowski, 58, was later arrested on a charge of aggravated assault.
Earlier this week, police said Kelly appeared to be the victim of a homicide.
Court documents related to Daniel’s arrest state that neighbors heard a scream and saw Kelly lying face down in the yard with Daniel on top of her. The documents describe that neighbors later saw Daniel spraying the same area with a garden hose.
Investigators later discovered fresh blood in the residence.
The full timeline of events shows cellphone data, which places Kelly’s phone on the Shultze Creek Trail around 10:20 a.m. that Sunday. Because of that, they focused their efforts on the forest around Snowbowl on Wednesday.
Flagstaff Police Chief Sean Connolly will provide an update at 4 p.m. He will be joined by Senior Prosecutor Michael Tunink of the Coconino County District Attorney’s Office. Arizona’s Family will broadcast the news conference on 3TV/CBS 5 and online.
Northern Arizona correspondent Mason Carroll contributed to this report.
