REDWOOD CITY – Authorities arrested a 21-year-old Redwood City man Wednesday on suspicion of firing a handgun at an occupied car early last month in the city.
The incident was reported around 11:30 p.m. March 6 near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and El Camino Real, Redwood City Police Lt. Nick Perna said in a news release.
Perna said officers arrived and found two people inside a vehicle that had been shot three times.
“They told officers they encountered an individual on the street corner who, for unknown reasons, pulled out a handgun and shot them,” Perna said in the release.
No injuries were reported.
Detectives identified the suspect, who was located and arrested Wednesday. A search of his home also turned up a .40-caliber Glock 27 handgun, Perna said. The suspect was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on charges related to the shooting.
