The Red Sox had bad news on Saturday concerning Alex Bregman’s injury.
Although Bregman and the Red Sox hoped that he dodged something major after Bregman was withdrawn from Friday match with what was described at the time as a “quadruple tension”. However, the third base player began to feel worse last night, and an MRI revealed that he had suffered a serious quadruple tension.
Bregman called the “similar to 2021” injury, the season when he missed more than two months and 58 games. Although the manager of Boston Alex Cora has not given a calendar concerning Bregman, it is clear that it will be absent much longer than a week.
“He will go out for a while,” said Cora. “Hopefully, confidence in our medical staff, it is as soon as possible, but it will be released for a while.”
Bregman has been both surprised and disappointed with the news, especially given the season he has organized so far.
“Yeah, it’s horrible,” Bregman told journalists on Saturday. “There is nothing else to do than try to improve every day, focus on rehabilitation and dominate this. Try to stack as many good days as possible.”
In addition to providing his stable and winning hand of gloves to the third goal, Bregman was also one of the best offensive players in Boston this season. Its average stick of 0.299 and 35 produced points is second on the Red Sox, while its circuits (11) and its successes (59) are both third on the team.
Bregman was one of the Boston Splash signatures in a free agency. The Red Sox needed a right -handed striker with power and a good defender, and he was among the best options available. Now they will have come out of a regular straight bat for a while.
Although the long absence of Bregman is difficult to fill, Boston called Marcelo Mayer to help fill the void. Mayer made his debut in MLB on Saturday evening at the third goal.
