Elon Musk took another hit with President Donald Trump’s principal commercial advisor, Peter Navarro, calling him “moron” on social networks while Tesla CEO is divided more from the White House pricing plan.
Musk’s remarks were in response to an interview with CNBC with Navarro during the broadcast on Monday, during which the White House sales advisor explained how Tesla’s position as a “car assembler” rather than a car manufacturer could disagree with Trump’s pricing policies. Comments arise as Trump has announced widespread prices on a band of countries, causing market volatility and probably increasing the cost of thousands of dollars cars.
“In many cases, if you go to his Texas factory, a good part of the engines he obtains, which in the EV affair are the batteries, come from Japan and come from China. Electronics comes from Taiwan,” said Navarro.
“The difference is, in our thought and on this subject, it is that we want the tires to be done in Akron,” he continued. “We want the transmissions to be carried out in Indianapolis. We want the engines made of flint and Saginaw. And we want the cars to be made here. ”
Musk said Navarro “is truly a moron” in an X post responding to a video of shared comments on the social media platform. “What he says here is clearly false,” he wrote, before calling Navarro “Peter Retarrdo” in another derogatory comment.
Musk said that “Tesla has the most American manufacturing cars” in another series of X posts, adding that “Navarro is more stupid than a brick bag”.
“By any definition, Tesla is the most integrated automotive manufacturer vertically in America with the highest percentage of American content. Navarro should ask the false expert he invented, Ron Vara,” he added.
Tesla has dominated the American manufacturing index of Cars.com since 2021, on the basis of criteria including the assembly location, where the parts are manufactured, the origin of the engine, the origin of the transmission and the American manufacturing workforce. However, Tesla is not immune to prices, a reality that Musk recognized.
“The price impact on Tesla is still significant,” he wrote on X last month.
The Musk Tuesday remarks came after publishing, then deleted, a comment saying that the doctorate of Navarro de Harvard is a “bad thing”, and that he did not “build Sh * t”.
Navarro rejected the concerns about a confrontation with Musk on Musk on Musk on Musk on Musk on Musk, no problem. ” When you talk to CNBC.
Musk has also diverted with Trump on prices, publishing videos on free trade and saying during an Italian event, he thinks that there should be zero prices between the United States and Europe. Washington Post reported on Musk on Monday that Musk also launched a “direct call” to Trump.
This is not the first time that Musk has disagreed with Trump on a policy of policy or staff. But the tariff division is one of the most important differences in perspective between the president and his biggest booster and the best adviser.
The White House for its part, increases Musk’s comments.
“These are obviously two people who have very different opinions on trade and prices. The boys will be boys and we will let their public population continue,” said the white house press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Tuesday. “I think that it also testifies to the president’s desire to learn from all sides that he has people at the highest level of this government, to this white house, which have very diverse opinions on very diverse questions.”
