Fans of a beloved MTV series are in mourning.
Sarah Beckerwho starred in the fifth season of The real worldcommitted suicide earlier this month, her family confirmed to TMZ on June 23. She was 52 years old.
A family member informed the outlet that Sarah, who lived in Illinois to care for loved ones, died early last week after experiencing mental health issues over the past few months. Despite her personal struggle, those close to the former reality TV star say she lifted the morale of those around her.
‘Sarah Becker was made of pure sunshine,’ friend says Daniel Norton wrote on Facebook on June 23. “Full of energy and positivity, you couldn’t help but feel the warmth in his presence. I’m grateful for our adventures and laughter.”
He concluded with a nod to Sarah’s former work in comics: “Big hugs to the whole Wildstorm family!”
When Sarah was featured on Miami’s season of Real world series, she worked in comic books, loved skateboarding, and famously brought a puppy home to the group’s residence.
