Real Madrid seeks to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold for the Club World Cup

Real Madrid aims to finish the signature of Trent Alexander-Arnold before the start of the club World Cup.

The defender of England confirmed that he would leave Liverpool when his contract will expire later this summer and that the 26 -year -old should join the Spanish club as a free agent.

Alexander-Arnold’s contract with Liverpool expires on June 30, but the club World Cup begins 16 days earlier.

BBC Sport understands that Real approached Liverpool to negotiate an agreement to free Alexander-Arnold in time so that the rear is part of their plans for the tournament organized in FIFA in the United States.

It is understood that the Spanish club is considering an offer of around 1 million euros (£ 850,000) to release Alexander-Arnold early from its agreement.

It was also suggested that real could be willing to pay the wages that Liverpool owes to Alexander-Arnold when they are looking for a solution.

Discussions between all parties are described as friendly.

The World Director of Football FIFA confirmed that there will be a short initial transfer window this summer – from June 1 to 10 – which is designed for competing clubs to modify their teams on time for competition.

Real’s desire to land in Alexander-Arnold in time for the tournament presents an opportunity for Liverpool to recover at least money for a high value player who will otherwise leave Anfield for no fees.
