Several close aides and allies of former President Donald Trump have been indicted in Arizona for their alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election by attempting to award the state’s electoral votes to Trump instead of Joe Biden, who won the state by 10,457 votes.
The charges follow a year-long investigation by Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes (D). Arizona is the fourth state, after Michigan, Georgia and Nevada, to file charges against those who formed an alternate slate of presidential electors.
