President Trump made his speech on Tuesday on a joint session of the congress. The following is a transcription of his remarks, as recorded by the New York Times.
President Trump: President Johnson. Vice-president Vance, the first lady of the United States. Members of the US Congress, thank you very much. And to my fellow citizens, America is back.
Six weeks ago, I stood under the dome of this Capitol and proclaimed the dawn of the golden age of America. From that moment, this was only quick and implacable actions to inaugurate the largest and most successful era in the history of our country. We have accomplished more in 43 days that most administrations are not realized in four years or eight years – and we are just beginning. THANKS.
I go back to this room this evening to point out that the American momentum is back. Our mind is back. Our pride is back. Our confidence is back. And the American dream is booming – bigger and better than ever. The American dream is unstoppable, and our country is on the verge of a return like the world that the world has never witnessed, and perhaps never attend. Never anything like it.
The presidential election of November 5 was a mandate that it has not been seen for many decades. We have won the seven swing states, giving us an electoral electoral victory of 312 votes.
We have won the popular vote by large numbers and won counties in our country –
Representative Al Green, Democrat of Texas and other Interrupt President Trump.
