Ravens do everything they can to prepare for cold weather in Buffalo

The Ravens’ preparation for Sunday’s road game against the Bills involves more than preparing for what they will see the Bills attempt to do on the field during the game.

They are also bracing for icy conditions in Buffalo. Current forecasts call for temperatures well below freezing for the 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff and the Ravens are adapting their practice routine to that scenario. They were indoors Wednesday because their outdoor practice field was frozen, but head coach John Harbaugh said they made sure to make the building look like it was outdoors and he expects things to be even colder for Thursday’s session.

“We got it as cold as possible here right now, and it’ll be even colder tomorrow when I turn off all the water here so the pipes don’t freeze,” Harbaugh said via the team’s website. “Then we’ll have him cold.” I would love to be outside, but we can’t. The fields are too hard and too frozen.

Predictions call for this to be the coldest game of quarterback Lamar Jackson’s career, but Jackson is 3-1 when temperatures dip below freezing and he said he won’t change his approach . He will wear the heavy jacket while finding heaters on the touchline, but said he “leaves that to ‘Teddy two gloves,’ Teddy Bridgewater,” when asked if he should wear gloves for additional protection.
