Barry Ferguson warned that the work of the Rangers is “not a project” after the club was linked to a potential recruit boss in Davide Ancelotti.
Reports in Spain have suggested that Encelotti, currently assistant to her father Carlo in Real Madrid, is a favorite from the Ibrox vacancy, with claims that he was approached by the club.
The Rangers quickly played an idea that the 35 -year -old man was offered the position, but did not deny that he was being studied.
Ancelotti served as No2 to his father at Bernabeu, as well as previous spells together at Bayern Munich, Napoli and Everton.
He has no first line experience as a manager, with many fans of the rangers shocked to see his name associated with the hunting of their club with a new permanent boss.
The acting manager Ferguson admitted on Tuesday that he knew little about Ancelotti Junior, but underlined the need for any new boss potential to launch the ground next season and start winning immediately.

Asked about the links to Ancelotti, Ferguson said: “I know nothing about him, if I am honest.
“I know that he is assistant to his father and his father is one of the best managers. There will always be speculation, there has been speculation since I entered.
“I have no problem with that. It’s just the way it works here to the west of Scotland. All I can do is just focus on me doing the work as best as possible and we will see where it takes us.
“One thing I will say is that it is not a project. You have to start winning right away. That’s it.
“You don’t have time here. You have summer to build a new team, whatever you want to build it.
“You must go to a very fast starter and you must make sure you win as many games as possible.
“This club is built on victory and we have to start winning. This is the problem here and that is clearly why there are a number of managers who have lost their jobs over the years.
“Rangers must therefore return to stimulating and won trophies. This is where everyone can see it.
“I do not hide anything and I am sure that with the changes that have been made, they (the new potential owners) realize it. Supporters realize it.
“I certainly realize it and it is a great job – but it is also a brilliant job to have. There is a lot of work to do and I hope it all starts to move.
“We hope to see soon what will happen.”
Sources in the Rangers have insisted that any suggestion Ancelotti is about to take the work is largely of the brand.
The recruitment process is still at its beginnings and will start to move once the new sports director Kevin Thelwell is responsible for the end of the season.
The chronicler of Mail Sport, Simon Jordan, thinks that it would be a huge bet for the Rangers to appoint Ancelotti, given his lack of experience in management.

Speaking on Talksport, Jordan said: “The question is not whether Davide Ancelotti has the chops to assume a managerial responsibility, but if he has the chops to help the Rangers overcome Celtic. This is the debate that the rangers need with themselves.
The former president of Crystal Palace, Jordan, continued: “If I am Rangers – and I did not interview the guy – I do not know how charismatic are and what are his references.
“We saw people who had really important responsibilities, Paul Clement (previous assistant of Ancelotti in Chelsea and Bayern Munich).
“He is an excellent coach, he worked under great management in the big football clubs. Paste it in the canoe as a manager, not so much.
“Rangers, why?” Why would you take this release kick? Unless it is so impressive, and I believe that the only subscription you have to do anything is the information to identify what it has done before.
“I don’t understand the first meeting. You take a risk, but these are the Rangers, and all the challenges among the Rangers have brought them at this stage, where the board of directors is in disarray, the property changes, the expectations of the club must increase.

Meanwhile, Ferguson expects a certain clarity on the future plans of the club in the coming days in terms of how things will go ahead beyond summer.
Speaking while the Rangers are preparing to welcome Dundee United in Ibrox on Wednesday evening, he added: “In terms of update on myself, look, this will remain private.
