Tickets are already on sale for the fight in Glasgow, priced at £47 each.

After the fight was announced on Milligan’s social media, Novo opened up about the fight.

He said: “Twenty years ago I was scoring goals for Rangers.

“Twenty years later, I’m fighting my biggest fan.

“Well, after what I’ve been through – a lot of problems in my life, health problems, whatever happens in life, you have to try to push yourself to do what you want to do.

“I’m excited about this event, I hope everyone comes out to support me and I hope people enjoy.”

Meanwhile, Milligan insisted he was desperate to eliminate his football idol.

He said: “Twenty years ago, Novo was my top scorer on FIFA. Twenty years later, I am now fighting against Nacho Novo.

Novo played for Rangers for six years, becoming one of the favorites at Ibrox.

“I do this for children who have doubted, for those who have a dream.

“I used to be a kid with Novo 10 printed on my back. But now I’ll ask the referee to count to 10 with Nacho Novo on my back.”

Novo is set to headline the event as he steps into the ring to fight Milligan, who is sort of a Glasgow version of Jake Paul.

The Spaniard is well remembered for his time at Rangers, scoring 73 times in 255 appearances for the Scottish giants.

This included the winning penalty against Fiorentina to send Gers to the UEFA Cup final in 2008.

Novo spent six years at Rangers before moving through Spain, Poland and the United States, before returning to Scotland to play for Championship side Greenock Morton.

After retiring in 2017, the former forward suffered a heart attack a year later while playing in a veterans tournament for the Rangers.

He also suffered a stroke just months after his first health problem.
