The Rangers experienced a real storm on Monday.
A dominant third period gave the Hurricanes a 4-1 victory at the Garden, closing the gap in their second-round series with a 3-2 lead for the Rangers.

Jordan Staal, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Jordan Martinook scored on goalie Igor Shesterkin 6:23 into the first half of the period, sending the Canes back to Raleigh as back-to-back game winners.
Martin Necas added an empty net to cap the scoring with 3:29 remaining.
The Rangers’ next chance to defeat Carolina and advance to the Eastern Conference finals comes Friday at PNC Arena.
