Ralf Rangnick ‘REFUSES’ Bayern Munich job, forcing them to turn to ‘Plan D’ after Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann refuse to take over

Ralf Rangnick has reportedly rejected the opportunity to replace Thomas Tuchel as Bayern Munich coach, leaving the club scrambling for another option.

Bayern were discussing a deal with Rangnick that would force him to leave the Austrian post early.

However, Rangnick intends to extend his contract with Austria until it expires in 2026 and lead them to Euro 2024 this summer, according to BILD.

Rangnick was already their third choice to replace Tuchel after Bayern Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso and Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann – who managed Bayern – turned them down.

Bayern and Tuchel revealed in February that he would leave the club at the end of the season, which was disappointing.

Ralf Rangnick has reportedly rejected the opportunity to replace Thomas Tuchel as Bayern Munich coach.

While Bayern are in the semi-finals of the Champions League, they have failed to win the Bundsliga title after 11 consecutive triumphs.

They were also knocked out of the DFB-Pokal by third division side Saarbrücken.

Rangnick will be a household name in England for his ill-fated stint as interim boss of Manchester United in the 2021/22 season.

He led the club to sixth place that season after the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, failing to convince fans and players, particularly Cristiano Ronaldo.

In Germany its stock is a little higher. He is known as the “father of Gegenpressing” and also performed respectably in Austria.

More soon.
