Henderson, nev. – While the temperatures pushed 90 degrees, Pete Carroll got attached to his gloves and was fell back on the ground while the defensive backs of the Raiders of Las Vegas looked. With the 73 -year -old coach showing this type of energy during the stretch period, there was little room for anyone to withdraw.
“He worked on his press,” said the Darien Porter Coin Half on Friday. “It’s funny, but I really appreciate it. Seeing this kind of energy in the Mini-Camp recruit so early in the process is great. ”
Friday, throughout the first practice of the three -day camp of the raiders, the energy level was high. The team’s headquarters have an interior installation, but coaches have kept the session outside. The result was that the physical shape of the players was growing at the edge.
“You must be conditioned,” said receiver Jack Bech. “You must be able to run all day. And I think, obviously, the packaging by yourself and the packaging of football is a little different. … I am delighted to continue to come here and to continue to learn under one of the greatest coaches of all time and continue not only to sharpen not only my physical skills, but also my mental skills. “
The practice was without pads, which makes it more difficult to assess lines, seconds and runners, but Bech and Porter managed to stand out.
Bech said he had aimed to model his game after the Los Angeles Rams Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp receptors, the former Raiders Amari Cooper recipient and the Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson. With Nacua, it is his ability to use his body, his lever effect and his physique to open up. With Kupp, this is how he understands the nuances of the game. With Cooper and Jefferson, it’s their precise route.
Although Bech has a long way to go to reach the level of these players, it was still open on Friday. His best games came to the end of training when he transported several deep bullets during exercises of 11 against 11 which would have been affected. We do not know if he will spend most of his time outside or in the slit, but he will be a day starter if he continues to work.
Bech is not the fastest or the largest receiver – he measures 6 feet 1 inch and 215 pounds – but he uses his mind as much as his body to create advantages.
“It is more a question of understanding the different lifting and understanding what the defense does, and of going further,” said Bech. “You have to understand the nuance of the game and know where to attack. A great thing is to know how to open up and when to do it. A double movement, a stuttering and a smell or a blanket can work well against a coverage 3 where you can make them bitten, but that might not work well against 4 or cover 2. These are different things like that.
Porter is more a ball of intriguing lines at this stage, but they are quite impressive. It is slim, but it is legitimate 6 feet 2 inches, and its dashboard time of 4.3 seconds of 40 yards of the combine harvester appears on the ground. He went from the corner receiver to the university and was still just a rotation player in 2024, so he has a lot to learn. Its fundamental principles and technique are always a work in progress.
Bring to physical skills to compensate for his mistakes, but they will still have to occur less frequently to enter the mixture with Jakorian Bennett, Eric Stokes and Decamerion Richardson for a starting role as an outdoor corner. Carroll has had a gross corner development history – at the Richard Sherman and Tariq Woolen – and Porter hopes that he will be on the list.
“They are both large and long,” said Porter. “I think sportsman, I adapt a little more with Tariq than Richard. I’m just trying to take all the coaching I can to reach the level of these guys. ”
Here are some additional notes of the practice.
• Raiders had more than 70 participants in training, which is much more than past years. However, this was the habit of returning to Carroll to his time as a Seattle Seahawks chief coach. The group was made up of the 11 recruits written, of 15 unrelated free agents, the defensive plaque of the international program of the Laki Tasi program and many other players who were trying places in the team. The idea of bringing it as much is to give the staff of coaches enough players to use a depth table with two depths and perform complete team exercises on both sides of the ball.

• It was a first silent day of work to run the balloon ashton Jeanty, but that is to be expected since there was no authorized contact. His time to shine will come.
• Tommy Mellott, who played the quarter-Arrière at university but who spends the receiver, spent most of his time aligning in the slit. He didn’t do much in practice, but his speed jumps.
The same goes for which Thornton, which is just as fast despite being much larger at 6-4, 205 pounds. Between these two and the veteran receiver Tre Tucker, the raiders have deeper threatening options than they did at this stage last year.
• Charles Grant aligned himself exclusively to the left tackle during the media visualization part. He was also locked in this position throughout his university career, but Carroll said he would also like to see him get right.
Unlike Grant, another choice of third round Caleb Rogers moved during training. He aligned himself with both the right and right tackle. While the raids drafted him as a guard, they will not limit it.
Rogers started matches in the left tackle, left guard, right guard and right tackle at university. Its best path to playing time is at the guard, but it is logical that the raiders continue to transform it into a cross given the unpredictable nature of the injuries.
“I told them when they wrote to me that I wanted to be a guy who can play five (positions),” said Rogers on Friday. “Wherever they will need me to integrate me, that’s where I want to be.
