“The Bachelor” alums Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James split just three hours before the shocking Instagram announcement he shared on Thursday, according to Kirkconnell’s sister Trinity.
Trinity shared the timeline clue below TikToker Gabby White’s video about the breakup on Friday.
Trinity previously told White that Rachael, 28, and James, 33, were “still together” when he revealed they had split.
James’ post Thursday included a photo of them meeting at the famous “Bachelor” mansion on the first night of filming for his season of “The Bachelor,” which airs in 2021.
“Father God, give Rachael and me the strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us peace regarding this decision to end our relationship that transcends the understanding of the world,” he captioned the snapshot.
“Give our friends and family kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our joy comes from you, Lord 💔.
His post confused people, given that he had shared a video of him and Rachael trying pizza in London two days prior.
Some fans were so confused by their split that they thought James’ account had been hacked. Others even speculated that they were secretly engaged and were trying to “unsettle people” by pretending they had actually broken up.
People became even more perplexed when DeuxMoi posted a video that allegedly showed the two men walking together in Tokyo on January 13.
Over the past two weeks, James has posted videos of him and Rachael in Aspen and London – but not in Japan.
The creative director, meanwhile, hasn’t posted on Instagram since wishing her “best friend” and “teammate” a happy birthday in December 2024.
The “Bachelor” season 25 winner hasn’t spoken about the breakup but insinuated she was “blindsided” when she “liked” a comment left by a fan on social media.
“The more I think about it, the more I think he completely blindsided her with this. Give her some grace and let her respond in her own time,” the user wrote.
However, a report in the American Sun claims that she was the one who pulled the plug because James didn’t want to commit.
