RACE START: Enjoy the breakaway at the Hungarian Grand Prix as Oscar Piastri takes the lead and Max Verstappen pulls away

Lando Norris may have started on pole position for the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix, but it was his team-mate Oscar Piastri who finished the opening lap in P1 after a strong start from the Australian.

Norris was quick to try to cover his team-mate, starting alongside him in P2, with Max Verstappen joining the party from P3 as the trio approached Turn 1 three abreast.

But Verstappen was forced to take over as Piastri fought his way into the lead – Norris was briefly relegated to P4 behind Lewis Hamilton before returning to the lead on the outside of Turn 3, while Verstappen would hand P2 back to Norris a few laps later.
