Quentin Tarantino defends his use of the N-word in his films

“I don’t make them for you! Quentin Tarantino urges viewers offended by liberal use of the N-word and extreme violence in his movies to ‘go see something else’

Quentin Tarantino has defended his controversial use of the N-word in his films in a candid new interview – saying if people are offended they should ‘look at something else’.

The 59-year-old filmmaker was a guest on the HBO Max series Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace, when Chris Wallace asked about controversial aspects of his films.

In response, Quentin warned viewers that he “didn’t” make his movies for the kind of people who were then pissed about them.

Wallace asked, “You talk about being the conductor and the audience being the orchestra. So when people say, ‘Well, there’s too much violence in his movies. He uses the N-word too often. What are you saying?

Tarantino replied: “You should see something else”. Then see something else. If you have a problem with my films, these are not the films to go see. Apparently I don’t do them for you,” Tarantino said.

‘It’s bulls**t. You can’t just tell a writer they can’t speak, write the words, put the words in the mouths of people of their ethnicities, the way they use their words,” Jackson said.

“You can’t do that, because then it becomes a lie; it’s not honest. It’s just not honest,” he added.

Tarantino’s Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx also had no problem with the N-word – which was said over 100 times in the script.

“I understood the text. The N-word was said 100 times, but I understood the text – that’s how it was back then,’ Foxx told Yahoo! in 2018.

Tarantino has hit the press for his new book Cinema Speculation – a collection of essays centered on “key American films of the 1970s” he saw as a child.

He also confirmed during an interview with CNN that his upcoming 10th film – which has yet to be announced – will be his last.

‘I’ve been doing it for a long time. I’ve been doing it for 30 years. And it’s time to wrap up the show. I’m an artist. I want you to want more,” Quentin said.

‘I don’t want to become this disconnected old man… already I feel a bit like a disconnected old man when it comes to current movies that are coming out right now. And that’s what happens. This is exactly what is happening,” he added.

Although he has long said he will be “retiring” after 10 films, there is no indication if he has a final project in mind yet.

“I’m also not in a big rush to do my last movie either. So I have my book, I’m doing a few other things and then I’ll figure out what the next movie will be,” Tarantino teased.
