- Kalyn Ponga rear has a ribbed cartilage injury
- Reece Walsh will not play because of the knee complaint
- A news for the fans of the chestnuts, the first match is May 28
Fans of Queensland are at the limit after having been revealed the rear star Kalyn Ponga fights against a coast cartilage injury.
This comes after the Broncos No. 1 Reece Walsh confirmed that it would not be likely to play for chestnuts when the series was opened at Suncorp Stadium on May 28.
Walsh damaged its posterior cross ligament (PCL) in its knee against the Warriors and aims for a return in early June.
“No, probably not the first origin,” Walsh said this week.
“My knee is resistant fairly well at the moment, but I hope that I will be able to pass rehabilitation and see how we are going.
“Everyone’s return (from a PCL injury) can be different. I will see how it stops every week, so I don’t know when I will be back.
The original fans of Queensland are on the edge once it has been revealed that the back of Star Kalyn Ponga fights against a coast cartilage injury

This comes after Broncos No. 1 Reece Walsh confirmed that it would not be likely to play for Maroons when the series is opened at SUNCORP Stadium on May 28 due to a knee complaint
“I will continue to do my best.
On Friday, NRL Physio revealed the complaint of the Ponga coasts on Instagram.
Although it is not confirmed by the knights, this could explain the start of the Ponga season.
“Kalyn Ponga is a confirmed starter (for Magic Round) this weekend, but he will play through a coast cartilage injury,” says the post.
“No detail provided by the knights – injuries by the cartilage of the known coasts as one of the most painful injuries in the footy. Return often helped by pain relievers / padding.
If Ponga and Walsh are both excluded from Queensland, Selwyn Cobbo is looming as a replacement.
Cobbo impressed the last start against the Bulldogs of Driving Rain by playing in the back with Walsh away – and this Sunday has another chance of showing the coach of the Maron Slater, he is the man for work when the broncos attack Penrith.
Remarkably, Penrith is currently sitting in 17th place on the LNR scale – despite the victory of the last four finals.
Up to 180,000 football fans are expected to attend Suncorp Stadium this weekend, with eight games organized in three days.
The CEO of NRL, Andrew Abdo, labeled Magic Round – which is officially exhausted in Brisbane – a “True Rugby League Festival”.
