QB Tom Brady (finger) will play despite being added to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers injury report on Friday

TAMPA, Fla. — With a finger injury that has dogged him all week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was added to the Bucs’ injury report on Friday, although his status for the game of Sunday hosting the Green Bay Packers is not in danger.

A source said Brady did not suffer any setbacks. He was obviously uncomfortable during parts of practices open to the media this week, but was added to the report out of an abundance of caution.

Brady injured his right ring finger in the Bucs’ 20-10 win over the New Orleans Saints last week, but practiced fully Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

“He’s ready to go, he’s in training,” coach Todd Bowles said Friday. “He took every throw.”

Brady played down the severity of the injury when asked about it on Thursday, despite looking at his right hand several times during practice and shaking it. He even made fun of it by creating a video tutorial for his brand TB12 on how to make avocado ice cream, pretending to cut off his finger.

“Awesome. I feel great,” Brady said Thursday. “It’s football season, so…”
