Zelenskyy promised to “reflect” Putin’s actions in the regions of Kursk, Belgorod, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk, among others.
“Ukraine, with our partners, is ready to go to constructive peace as possible, but we need the preparation of Russia,” reiterated Zelenskyy in another message. He also demanded that Russia had the ceasefire and insisted for the extension for 30 days.
The United States has been trying to negotiate a truce agreement between the two parties for weeks, but Moscow has rejected a recent offer for a complete one month, Ukraine has already accepted. While Putin agreed to stop attacks on energy facilities and civil infrastructure, the Kremlin violated this agreement after an hour.
US President Donald Trump threatened to abandon peace talks if the two parties do not play ball and do not progress towards a cease-fire.
“If for any reason, one of the two parties makes things very difficult, we are just going to say” you are stupid, you are fools, you are horrible people “and we will take a pass,” Trump said on Friday.
Barely a week ago, Russia launched a missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Sumy while people gathered to celebrate Palm Sunday, killing more than 30 years and injuring 117 others in one of the deadliest attacks this year.
