- Luis Enrique’s men would be surprised by the lack of quality of their opposition
- PSG players would also be “obsessed” by the second stage in Anfield
- Listen now: everything is launched! Is Alisson the best goalkeeper of the Premier League?
PSG players were reportedly left shocked by the bad level of Liverpool’s performance in the first leg of their champions League draw on Wednesday evening.
Despite dominant procedures against Arne’s teams at the Parc des Princes, the Reds escaped from the French capital with a 1-0 victory thanks to the Harvey Elliott strike with only three minutes to play.
But the men of Luis Enrique would have been surprised by the lack of quality of their opposition – appointing two other teams of the Champions League which, according to them, are more complete.
The players are “obsessed” by the second stage in Anfield as they seek to compensate for their waste in the first leg, according to the Team.
They also pointed out that they felt more comfortable against Liverpool than in the matches against Arsenal and Bayern Munich – that they both lost in the initial phase of the competition league.
Some also raised eyebrows to what they perceived as a timeless time by Merseysiders – a ploy refuted by defender Virgil Van Dijk.

The Reds escaped from the French capital with a 1-0 victory thanks to the end of the Harvey Elliott strike
Speaking in an post-match interview, Van Dijk, who was reserved for having done so, said: “ I did not think we were going to spend time, we just tried to play the game, but it was clear as the game went through a draw was the best possible result for us ”.
Liverpool has been tested several times by a PSG team which has not taken control of equality – despite the local team with 27 shots on goal and 71% possession.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the Premier League managed to score through Elliott with their only shot on the target while the Parisians were punished for their debauchery in attack.
Liverpool also has the goalkeeper Alisson to thank, because the Brazilian produced a series of end stops to keep his side level before they continue late.
He leaves the tie link finely in front of the leg back to Anfield next week, PSG needing to win the night to have a chance to progress.
Before the second stage of this intriguing meeting, Liverpool is back in action in the Premier League on Saturday, when they welcome Southampton in difficulty.
If the Reds win, they will move 16 points away from Arsenal, second, who will visit Manchester United in Old Trafford on Sunday.
