Manchester United’s goalkeeper Andre Onana faces criticism from experts after his performance subject to errors during the Europa League match against Lyon, but the Cameroonian footballer was supported by manager Ruben Amorim.
The 29-year-old made two expensive mistakes while Manchester United was forced to settle for a 2-2 draw in Lyon. He first failed to keep a free kick from Thiago Almada away and was also at fault when Rayan Cherki scored the equalizer at the last blow.
Onana’s errors occurred after being marked “one of the worst goalkeepers” in the history of the club by the former Channel of Manchester United, Nemanja Matic, who now plays for Lyon.
Since the start of last season, no goalkeeper of the Premier League club has no longer made mistakes leading to goals in all thanana competitions.
Amorim defends Onana, Scholes explodes a single goalkeeper
Nevertheless, Amorim defended his goalkeeper, saying that errors will occur if you play a lot of “games”.

The legend of Man United, Paul Scholes, however, did not share the same feeling that he slammed Onana for having labeled the Red Devils a better team than Lyon before the shock and later proved to be the difference between a draw and a victory.

Scholes also shared his reflections on the war of words between Matic and Onana before the game.
“I don’t think it’s something I would have done, try to provoke a team by saying you are better than them,” added Scholes.
“Matic reacted slightly excessively, it was a bit aggressive, but I don’t mind a little needle.”
Former Premier League midfielder Robbie Savage also criticized Onana for making mistakes against Lyon.
