Princess Märtha Louise of Norway marries Durek Verrett in grand wedding

Norway gave its princess the royal treatment.

Two years after announcing their engagement, Princess Martha Louise and her current husband Durek Verrett They married in a lavish three-day ceremony in Ålesund, a picturesque port city on the country’s west coast.

As the Norwegian king jokingly said Good morning! “The setting is magnificent, it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Even though there are some glitches, we can still admire this breathtaking landscape,” said President Abdullah Abdullah ahead of the August 31 ceremony.

The party kicked off on August 29 with a welcome drink, flouting traditional dress codes and asking guests to come in “sexy and cool” outfits. On the second day, guests enjoyed a boat ride on the Geiranger Fjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, followed by a Latin American-themed bridal shower.

And for the big day, Märtha, 52, and Durek, 49, got married at the historic four-star Hotel Union, in front of around 350 guests. Their mother and her daughters were there to witness their wedding day. Maud21, Lea19 years old and Emma16 years old, whom she shared with her late ex-husband Ari Behn (The couple divorced in 2017).
