Princess Anne suffers from memory loss after accident

Princess Anne is considered one of the “hardest working” royals (she has attended 457 different events in 2023 alone). However, she is currently out of action after suffering minor injuries and a concussion in an “incident” earlier this week. Tuesday, The telegraph gave an update on Anne’s condition, reporting that the princess remains in hospital and is suffering from memory loss, probably temporary.

The incident, which took place on Sunday evening at his home in Gatcombe Park, is believed to have involved one of his horses. Although the exact details of the accident are uncertain, “his injuries are consistent with potential impact with a horse’s head or legs,” according to People.

Anne is a long-time equestrian and even competed on the Great Britain team at the 1976 Olympics. She recently took part in the Trooping the Color 2024 festivities and was a spectator at Royal Ascot last week.

Anne’s work hiatus is seen as another setback for the royal family, which has had few working members available since Kate Middleton and King Charles announced their cancer diagnoses earlier this year. King Charles continues to actively work and attend his engagements, although he has had to reduce some of his public duties. Anne even took on some of her brother’s responsibilities during his recovery.

“She gets by, often doing multiple engagements in a single day,” said Queen Elizabeth’s former spokesperson Dickie Arbiter. The telegraph. “Of course, much of what the king does takes place behind the scenes, in meetings and walking through his red boxes, which is not worth mentioning in the Court Circular.”

The palace initially shared the news on Monday with a statement assuring fans that the princess was expected to make a speedy recovery. “The Princess Royal suffered minor injuries and a concussion following an incident in the Gatcombe Park estate last night,” Buckingham Palace said. “Her Royal Highness remains at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, as a precaution, under observation and is expected to make a full and speedy recovery.”
