Prince William’s beach day has a connection to Prince Harry

While Prince Harry celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games in London, his brother Prince William was busy on the beach in Cornwall. Although it was never confirmed that William would join his brother at St Paul’s Cathedral, William was booked and busy with a two-day trip to Cornwall, which included a stop at Fistral Beach.

William made a stop on the shore to meet with local representatives and organizations that work to promote beach safety. Ahead of summer, when families flock to the beach, groups including Holywell Bay and Newquay Surf Life Saving Clubs work with the public to raise awareness of drowning and train volunteers to save lives and prevent dangerous situations involving sand and surf.

According to The mirror, Prince William took time to reminisce about his love of Cornish beaches, saying: “It reminds me of everything. I want to put on a wetsuit and go out now!” When they were younger, Harry and William regularly spent time together at the beach.

William broke a major royal rule by signing a cast while on the sand. Nine-year-old Phoenix Kanes asked the Prince of Wales (who is also the Duke of Cornwall) to sign the cast of his broken arm.

“Shh, don’t tell anyone. I’m not supposed to do this!” William replied.

Last year at the Chelsea Flower Show, William’s wife, Kate Middleton, managed to get around the rule banning royal autographs by providing a fan with a quick sketch. In the past, when King Charles was asked for autographs, he would say, “Sorry, they won’t let me do that.” »

William’s quick trip also includes stops at a housing scheme at Nansledan in Newquay, which provides boarding opportunities for unhoused people, and a quick game of volleyball with the Holywell Bay Surf Life Saving Club. This trip marks William’s continued return to royal duties as his wife rests and recovers from her ongoing cancer treatments. After announcing she had been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, Middleton stayed out of the spotlight and other royals filled in for her, including Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie.
