BERLIN — A hereditary prince and alleged leader of a plot to violently overthrow the German government will go on trial Tuesday alongside eight other suspects in Frankfurt. Heinrich XIII, Prince of Reuss, and his alleged co-conspirators are accused of preparing an act of treason and of belonging to or supporting a terrorist organization. Although such a coup was unlikely to succeed, German authorities believed that the conspirators were sufficiently advanced in their planning and sufficiently financed and armed to pose a legitimate threat of terrorism.
