Prince Harry in ‘painful place’ after writing about Kate Middleton in ‘Spare’: expert

Prince Harry found himself in a “painful situation” following his sister-in-law’s cancer diagnosis, according to a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, reportedly feels slight regret for dropping so many revelations about his ex-family in his explosive 2023 memoir, “Spare.”

“When you find out your sister-in-law has cancer and you’ve written things that can’t be retracted, it’s a pretty painful place to be,” royal expert Tessa Dunlop told Us Weekly. “I’m not saying it’s not the case.”

Dunlop said Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s past criticism of the royal family had aged poorly now that the Princess of Wales, 42, and King Charles III, 75, are battling cancer.

“They deliberately criticize the monarchy (and then offer themselves) as an alternative to the monarchy. So when the monarchy is in trouble, we sort of make a comparison. Can Harry and Meghan really present themselves as caring examples now? she asked.

“They’re definitely going to have to be careful about the timing of each release so that it doesn’t seem opportunistic.”

Dunlop warned that the Sussexes will now have to think twice before making revelations about Harry’s loved ones.

“When that happens, it reframes everything,” she added.

After the release of “Spare” in January 2023, it was said that Middleton was surprised by the attacks contained in the book and was not seeking to forgive Harry and Meghan after their “public betrayal.”

Royal experts at the time said Harry would “come to regret” comments he made about his family.

In the book, Harry spared no effort in discussing Middleton’s broken relationship with his wife.

Harry gave his version of the infamous fashion fallout between the Windsor women, which he said left Markle “sobbing on the floor.”

“Meg asked if Kate knew what was happening right now. With his father. Kate said she was well aware of that, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days! Harry wrote in the book.

The royal thug then surprisingly revealed personal text messages exchanged between Markle and Middleton amid the disagreement over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.

Elsewhere in the protocol-shattering book, Harry recalled a time when Middleton reluctantly lent the “Suits” actress her lip gloss — and was “surprised” by her request to borrow it.

He claimed the Princess of Wales “winced” when Meghan squeezed the gloss onto her finger and applied it to her lips.

Harry also claimed stereotypes created a “kind of barrier” when his wife met Wales, before making a series of astonishing claims about his brother, the heir to the throne.

He alleged that Prince William, 41, became physical and knocked him to the ground during a bitter fight two months before he and Markle left the royal family.
