Asked about inflation, the chairman of the strategic committee of the E.Leclerc centers notably declared that “the inflation rate will go down, we will go from 16-17% monthly inflation to 7-8% from September”.
“With the suppliers, we negotiate throughout July to bring back to the French better price conditions at the start of the school year, in the fall. Even if we manage to negotiate, the effects will take place in September-October. The first discounts will take place at the start of the school year, ”said the Breton boss.
Michel-Edouard Leclerc was also questioned about… bottles of Ricard, which could be absent from the shelves of Leclerc centers this summer. His answer: “I’m not sure there’s Ricard on sale at Leclerc this summer. Ricard has decided to deliver only to those who do not break the market. So, for the moment, we are negotiating with Ricard throughout Europe”.
