San Gabriel Academy (15-10) in Brea Olinda (18-12), Wednesday, 6 p.m.
Perspectives: Brea Olinda plays for the first time in the volleyball final boys in the southern CIF section. The Wildcats finished third in the Autonomous League at five teams with a record of 5-3. In the playoffs, the Wildcats swept Lawndale, Vasquez and Lakewood in three sets before beating San Jacinto in the semi-finals in four sets, 18-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-19. The best Brea players are the Kaeden Vasquez junior sector, the senior exterior striker CJ Villaverde, the intermediate junior blocker Mason delrio and the first -year Libero Sean Chen. The San Gabriel Academy finished fourth in the San Joaquin League with four teams (2-6 championship record), which includes the teams of Orange Samueli Academy, Capistrano Valley Christian and Pacifica Christian. In the playoffs, the San Gabriel Academy beat Gabrielino, Aquinas, Jurupa Valley and Brentwood. The CIF-SS division 7 champion goes to the Southern Southern Southern California regional qualifiers starting on May 20.
