Presumed killer of mother and son of California captured in Mexico

A few days before Christmas, family members discovered the bodies of Alicia Montejano and her 19 -year -old son Reuel Huerta in their Stockton apartment. The two had been beaten to death and the authorities announced that Montejano’s boyfriend Julio Caesar Valdez, 38, was their suspect.

After a human hunt for several weeks, Valdez was arrested on Tuesday in Rosarito, Mexico, and will be extradited to the County of San Joaquin in the killings, stock of Stockton announced in a statement.

Huerta and her mother, Montejano, 43, were found in their apartment on December 23. Montejano’s daughter Marissa Vigil made the horrible discovery, reported the Sacramento KXTV news station.

“I couldn’t believe it,” said Vigil at the press station. “I felt like I was dying at the time. I couldn’t breathe and I still couldn’t take the photos out of my head.

“They did not deserve it,” said Reel’s father, Raul Huerta. “We need justice. He had the biggest heart. He wouldn’t hurt anyone.

Family members have described Huerta as a brilliant and calm teenager and Montejano as someone who could make others smile.

Authorities said Huerta had lacerations on her body, which seemed to be the cause of death, but there were no ball injury or other obvious wound signs found on her mother’s body. No other details have been published.
