As the Kansas City Chiefs were hosted by President Joe Biden at the White House on Friday, May 31, to honor their 2024 Super Bowl victory, President Biden specifically called out Travis.

As Biden finished his speech, he said he wanted to turn the floor over to the team’s general manager, Clark Hunt, before joking: “Identifier bring Travis here, but God only knows what he would say…Travis, come here, that’s right, it’s all yours, buddy.

At last year’s ceremony, Travis stepped toward the microphone as Biden turned away, but was pulled away by his friend Patrick Mahomes who apologized before Travis could speak.

The entire team, including kicker Harrison Butker who recently criticized the president during a graduation speech at Benedictine College, stood on the South Lawn as Biden gave a brief speech, praising their skills and joking in saying he “liked the idea” of being back to back. won; Biden is up for re-election in 2024.

He also paid tribute to the victims of the Super Bowl parade mass shooting that took place in March 2024.

Biden then tried on a football helmet thanks to the team’s encouragement.

On May 11, 2024, Harrison, 28, a kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, gave a speech at Benedictine College – a private Catholic school in Atchison, Kansas – that was aimed in part at Pride Month, the right to abortion, President Joe Biden and women who can choose to prioritize work over marriage and children.

The speech went viral and drew worldwide ire, especially since he quoted a Taylor Swift song but didn’t credit her, instead calling her “my teammate’s girlfriend.”

Taylor and Travis have been dating since summer 2023.

Travis also spoke out, telling fans that “when it comes to his opinions and what he said during Saint Benedict’s commencement speech, those are his.”

“I can’t say I agree with most of it, other than the fact that he loves his family and his children.”
