Premier League players involved in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying in January international window
| Business News Today | Local News
The January international window is known to be the critical time for World Cup qualification, and it’s no different this cycle as teams can secure a place in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.
As a result, many of the Premier League’s top players have already flown off to join national sides, with 2022 World Cup places on the line.
In this window, only three of the five confederations have active qualifying matches for the current World Cup – Asia (CAF), North America (CONCACAF) and South America (CONMEBOL). The three confederations use a round robin type qualification table. There are six matches left in CONCACAF qualifying, which equates to three matches per window by March, while AFC and CONMEBOL both have four matches to play, or two per window.

UEFA have already confirmed 10 of their 13 places, and the others will be decided during the March international window by three mini knockout stages.
