Honestly, I don’t remember the first year that we did the Gambo 5.
I just know that in 2017, we nailed Hasson Reddick in the first round and Budda Baker in the second.
Each year since then, we have a lot of requests the weeks before each draft for the Gambo 5.
And the history speak of itself.
We even made a Gambo 5 for the second round of the 2018 NFL draft and had Christian Kirk. Since I was old now and I don’t remember what I had for breakfast this morning, I questioned I have on the Gambo 5 and that’s what he said:
2017: “Yes, the Gambo 5 has indeed predicts Budda Baker in the cardinals. In fact, the Gambo 5 predicted Hasson Reddick in the first round and Baker in the second round, and it was exact for both.”
2018: “In 2018, the Gambo 5 predicted that Josh Rosen would be the only quarter-tree for which the cardinals would move.
2020: “Yes, the Gambo 5 model predicted Isaiah Simmons to the cardinals in the draft of the NFL 2020.”
2021: “Yes, the Gambo 5 model predicted Zaven Collins to the cardinals in the draft of the NFL 2021.”
Now, every year, I always tell my colleagues that I don’t do it. I am so busy with the end of the Suns season and the start of the diamondbacks that I just don’t think I have the time to do it properly.
But in the end, I give in and do the work necessary to assemble what I think is a list of five players that I generally guarantee that the cardinals will take.
So far, so good.
There is no refund guarantee here. So, if for any reason I am wrong, you do not get anything. This year is extremely difficult, cardinals choose the 16th row and the uncertainty of this project with a lack of star power and enormous depth.
Now, if the cardinals are negotiated from n ° 16, all bets are deactivated – I cannot in any case know what they can do if they go down. Thus, this model is only for the 16th choice.
For the context, I usually start by using the elimination process.
THE Arizona Sports Mock Draft Tracker To 25 different players making fun of the cardinals. The choice at No. 16 is really everywhere on the map.
So, I start by eliminating players and posts, I don’t think the cardinals will be interested in the choice of first round.
This year, I eliminated the wide receiver and the cornerback – so I can remove Jahdae Barron, Matthew Golden, Will Johnson, Benjamin Morrison and Luther Burden III.
I can also exclude the Arizona which goes up in this project. Although I will not exclude them by exchanging a few places.
From there, I turn my attention to the positions that I believe that the cardinals will have the most interest and it is O-Line and D-Line.
Since this weekend, I had seven players on my list in these positions. So, last night, I had to eliminate two to arrive at the Gambo 5, although I found another player who, I believe that Arizona, will be interested, you get an honorable mention.
Now the most difficult part of this is to know that it is the probability that three of these players are not on the board when the cardinals choose. But this project is really difficult to understand what other teams will do, in particular with the lack of quarters that will be written before Arizona’s selection.
It is likely that cardinals only choose two or three of these guys are available. But I just couldn’t eliminate any of them due to the severity of the recovery feeling for the teams in front of them.
So, without further delay, the Gambo 5:
– Tyler Booker, Alabama G
– Kelvin Banks Jr., Texas Ot
– Josh Simmons, Ohio State Ot
– Walter Nolen, Ole Miss DL
– Mykel Williams, Georgia Pass Rusher
Honorable mention: Derrick Harmon, Oregon Dt
Now the two that I eliminated were the rusher of Tennessee Pass James Pearce Jr. And Texas A & M Pass Rusher Shemar Stewart. Maybe if the Arizona Exchange Stewart, Stewart could be an option, but I just felt that he was too risky to take n ° 16.
So, there you have it, a heavy gambo 5 on OL and DL. I hope you enjoy it and have fun with it. I do my best and even if I like that I guarantee that it will be one of those guys, I cannot really guarantee anything.
