Pre-market U.S. stocks are higher, led by the NASDAQ index
Major U.S. stock indexes are trading higher in premarket trading, but off peak levels.
- Dow Industrial Averages are virtually unchanged with a slight gain of 12 points
- The S&P index implies a gain of 33 points or 0.66%
- NASDAQ futures imply a gain of 146 points or 0.83%
For the trading week, the major indexes enter today’s trading with gains. The S&P looks to break a three-week decline while the NASDAQ index looks to break a four-week decline:
- The Dow Industrial Average is up 0.26%
- The S&P index is up 1.63%
- The NASDAQ index is up 2.16%
Microsoft shares after earnings are trading up $14.36 or 3.6%. Alphabet shares are up $18 or 11.47%. They too announced their results after the close yesterday. Intel stock is in sharp decline after disappointing results (down -9.26%).
Nvidia shares are up $13.21 or 1.60%. Amazon shares are up $4.48 or 2.58%. Shares of Meta Platforms are down -$1.78 or -0.40%. Shares of Meta Platforms fell $52.12, or -10.56%, yesterday after reporting higher expenses and lower expectations for second-quarter revenue.
