The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported in a press release “powerful explosions in the region of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant”, under the control of Russian forces. At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense denounced these new strikes, attributing them to Ukrainian forces. Kyiv did not immediately comment.

These strikes, alleged images of which were posted on social networks by the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, did not cause damage “critical for nuclear security”, according to the IAEA mission present on the spot.
