Pedro Neto made two European trophies in as many weeks, after helping Portugal as UEFA Nations League on Sunday evening in Munich.
Although it is a distinctly first -rate competition (in a way), there was a lot of drama, effort and emotion exposed on both sides, Portugal coming twice from behind in the regulations before winning it with a set of five perfect kicks. Unfortunately, although predictable, the ex-peak narrowing the violet Álvaro Morata was the only player to miss during the shooting. Chin Up, a great man!
Neto joined forces with Marc Cucurella directly on the wing, and the two had decisive roles in the result. Neto installed the first equalizer of Portugal (ended with the excellent Nuno Mendes) while Cucurella was beaten badly for their second by the age -old Cristiano Ronaldo. To date, I am haunted by this beating guy Michael Essien in the air in 2008 Champions League Final, so Cucu is not in bad company but he should have done much better on that one.
Spain seemed to have the game in the bag for most of the time, but just like in the semi-finals, leave their opponents in the competition (maybe don’t remove Pedri?). Their undefeated sequence ends at 19 years old, although they are obviously still favorite for the World Cup next year as things are.
Neto played everything except the second period of additional time, while Cucurella was there for the complete 120. Renato Veiga played the last 15 of the regulations, more and more and more and more time, but João Félix was once again a substitute unused by manager Roberto Martínez. Neither Cucu nor Veiga took a penalty during the shooting.
In addition, earlier in the day, Malo Gusto started for France during the third match and helped them send Germany, 2-0.
