Pope Leo Vix used his first publications on social networks to urge world leaders not to go to war.
The pope, born in Chicago, Robert Prevost, 69, shared several messages full of hope on his account X Wednesday calling for peace and faith – a few days after publishing a message from a word to America.
“Peace be with you all!” This is the first greeting spoken by the risen Christ, the good shepherd, “His first tweet read.
“I would like this peace greeting to resonate in your hearts, in your families and among all people, wherever they are, in each nation and in the world.”
He followed this post an hour later with a tribute to the last pope who adopted the name Papal Leo, with a certain interrogation if he chose the name to pay tribute to other Leo Leo in history which had been frank on social issues.
“More than a century ago, Pope Leo XIII noted that” the preservation of oriental rites is more important than it is done, “he wrote. “Let us set the call to safeguard and promote the East Christian, especially in the diaspora.”
Pope Leo underlined his opening articles on current conflicts in the world, calling peace as wars in Ukraine and Gaza and India Rage in the world.
“There are so much violence and so many wars in our world!” He wrote.
“ In the midst of this horror which should provoke indignation – as people die in the name of the military conquest – throws the call of Christ, who repeats: ‘Peace be with you!’ ‘

Pope Leo Vix published his first publications on social networks since he became the new chief of the Vatican when he urged the world leaders to avoid going to war

Pope Leo continued on his X account: “The old spiritualities, but always always in the east, offer a healing balm.
“They merge an awareness of human misery with admiration for divine mercy, so that our bass never leads to despair but invites us to welcome grace.”
He said in another position later: “The peace of Christ is not the silence of the tomb after a conflict, and it is not the result of a subjugation.
“Peace is a gift that looks at others and renews their lives. Let us pray for this peace, which is reconciliation, forgiveness and the courage to turn the page and start again.
The Pope then offered to help the world leaders to meet to negotiate peace, after the Vatican welcomed a historic meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the funeral of Pope Francis last month.

The Pope shared his first publications on social networks a week after being appointed the new papal chef
“The Holy See is willing to help enemies meet, so that they can look in the eye and so that people are made the dignity they deserve: the dignity of peace,” said Leo.
“With heart in hand, I tell the chiefs of the nations: we meet; Let’s dialogu; Negotiate.
“War is never inevitable,” he concluded in a last post.
“Weapons can and must be silent because they never solve the problems but only intensify them. Those who segment peace will last throughout history, not those who harvest the victims. Others are not enemies to hate but human beings with whom to talk to.
The articles came a few days after Pope Leo’s journalist was invited by a journalist if he had had a “message for the United States”.
Prévost replied that he had “a lot” of messages for his homeland, in what some perceived as a sharp message to Donald Trump.
He would not be out of character for the new Pope to dismiss a large one with the president, because he previously criticized the Trump administration of his private account X.

Pope Leo declared earlier this week that he had “a lot” of messages for the United States, which some took as broad against the Trump administration, which the new Pope had already criticized on his private social media

The 69 -year -old man shared a number of messages criticizing the Trump administration, one of which is addressed to the position of Catholic JD Vance on immigration
His latest retweet, on April 14, slammed the expulsion by the administration of undocumented migrants and father of Maryland Kilmar Abrego Garcia, 30, in El Salvador.
The message can be read as follows: “Do you not see suffering?” Isn’t your conscience disturbed? How can you remain silent?
The 69 -year -old has also shared several articles which approach the position of Catholic JD Vance on immigration. One of them is entitled: “JD Vance is false: Jesus does not ask us to classify our love for others.
Pope Leo also shared an article in 2018 which said: “There is nothing Christian, American or morally defensible about a policy that keeps their parents away from their parents and undertakes them in cages. This is done on our behalf and shame is on all of us.
