Police: Sun glare led to semi-trailer accident |  Local

KINGSBURY – The glare of the sun is to blame for a tractor-trailer crash in Kingsbury on Tuesday.

The accident took place at around 3:45 p.m. on Highway 4 just south of the intersection with National Highway 149. State police said Sardor Nematullaev, 25, of Brooklyn, was driving when his vision went off. been impacted by the sun. He got off the road, lost control and hit a utility pole.

The vehicle overturned. The semi-trailer was carrying a load of printer paper, police said.

Nematullaev was not injured.

The Kingsbury Fire Department responded to the scene and TowAway helped straighten the vehicle.

The road was closed to traffic between Green Barn Road and Highway 149 until 9:00 p.m.
