The Murdo, South Dakota Police Department released stunning images to remind drivers to take extra precautions when traveling in winter weather conditions.

The footage shows an SUV losing control as the driver attempts to exit a slippery ramp. The vehicle then drives towards an officer and a towing service worker at the site of another accident. The officer and tow worker narrowly escaped the SUV as it slammed into the officer’s patrol vehicle, sending the cruiser back several feet.

“Slow down on slippery, snowy roads and in bad weather,” the video caption read. “We would like to go home to our families.”

AAA Washington recommends several safe driving tips if you must go out in snowy or icy conditions:

The Murdo Police Department’s recall comes as winter storm Izzy is expected to affect various areas from the Midwest to the East Coast through Monday, according to Weather.com. The storm is currently moving over the Midwest and “will produce major travel headaches from North Dakota to northern Georgia and all the way to Maine,” the outlet reports.
