The Franklin (Tenn.) Police Department shares an update on by Mandisa cause of death during their investigation.
The department shared the news on social media Monday, April 22, confirming that while the cause of death has not yet been determined, “there is no indication that the death was the result of suspicious or criminal activity.” .
Tennessee law enforcement confirmed that the singer’s remains were also positively identified by the medical examiner over the weekend, although her representatives confirmed she died on Friday, April 19.
It is not known at this time if the ME conducted an autopsy, but it can be assumed that they conducted a toxicology panel, the results of which may take several weeks to receive.
The Franklin Police Department continues to investigate the death of a woman found at a residence on Beamon Dr. last Thursday evening.
Over the weekend, a medical examiner identified the deceased as 47-year-old Mandisa Hundley.

THE American idol an elder was found dead in her Nashville area home on Thursday, April 18. She was 47 years old. At the time, representatives said, “…we do not know the cause of death or any other details.”
Police have not yet released Mandisa’s suspected cause of death, but she previously spoke about her struggle with depression. Mandisa has been praised for her transparency, both on stage and in her memoir, Out of the Dark: My Journey Through the Shadows to Find the Joy of God.
David Pierce, media director of Christian radio network K-Love, celebrated her life, talent and vulnerability following her death. “Her kindness was epic, her smile electric, her voice massive, but it was no match for the size of her heart,” he wrote in part. “Mandisa had struggles and she was vulnerable enough to share that with us, which helped us talk about our own struggles.”
Fellow Christian singer Natalie Grant ” agreed when she wrote a blurb for the singer’s memoir, stating that Mandisa’s “courage and transparency” would “serve as a guide, showing many the way out of the darkness.”
