Police are still looking for a man from Washington who, according to him, murdered his three young girls a week ago.
Travis Decker, 32, is wanted for kidnapping and a first degree murder for having killed his daughters, aged nine, eight and five, according to the Wenatchee police service in Washington.
The officials believe that Mr. Decker, who, according to them, is an outdoor man and who can have gone to the survival school of the mountains as part of his military formation, hides in a distant part of the mountainous and wooded state, which makes the search for him difficult.
It was said to “pose a significant risk, if it is approached”. The police did not provide possible reason.
The girls – PAITYN, Evelyn and Olivia – died of an apparent suffocation in a campsite remote earlier this week, according to the police.
Their mother pointed out to them disappeared on May 30, after Mr. Decker failed to give him up his daughters after a visit. He also did not take his phone calls.
A few days later, on June 2, the police found the girls’ bodies near the campsite.
Police also found Mr. Decker’s mobile phone at the campsite, but he was no longer there. His truck, in which he lived, was also found nearby.
“I do not think that a reason is acceptable. And it is clearly not the decision of a solid spirit,” the sheriff of Chelan Mike Morrison said on a press conference on Wednesday, where he pleaded public to Mr. Decker to go.
Mr. Decker’s outdoor survival skills could help him escape the authorities to search for it, which includes the FBI, said Sheriff Morrison.
“It seems that sometimes he would go out and would be out of network for sometimes up to two and a half months,” said the Morrison sheriff after talking to Mr. Decker’s family.
Mr. Decker may have extended the region and hidden from supplies before killing his children, and he “has the knowledge to survive for a long time,” added the sheriff.
“We want a peaceful resolution to this, but we are not going to give up our efforts,” said the Morrison sheriff, asking Mr. Decker to come forward. “Let’s fold this and do what is good for your children.”
US Marshals Service announced on Wednesday a reward of $ 20,000 (£ 14,780) for information leading to the capture of Mr. Decker.
Research has caused widespread closures of national popular forests among hikers in the region.
