Police search for person who left emaciated puppy tied to guardrail in Revere

Local News

“She’s just skin and bones.”

Revere authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding the person who tied an emaciated dog to a guardrail on Route 1A last week, abandoning it.

Police said the dog was found on the north side of the road between Jackson and York streets on the morning of May 29.

Lisa Cutting, owner of Oceanview Kennel & Pet Resort, echoed authorities’ plea in a Facebook post, asking the public to help find those responsible.

“She is nothing but skin and bones,” Cutting wrote. “Someone needs to be held accountable.”

On Thursday, Cutting wrote that the dog, who she calls “Miracle,” had her first visit to a veterinarian.

“The good news is that I am negative for heartworm,” Cutting wrote on behalf of the dog. “I could use a little weight, like the doctor said, between a scale of three to nine, three being the worst, I’m a three.”

The dog is approximately 7 months old and weighs approximately 31 pounds. Cutting said she would follow a special diet to ensure her body could handle eating after reaching such a point of malnutrition and emaciation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Revere detectives at 781-656-1131 ext. 60342 or by submitting a tip anonymously by texting REVEREPD to 847411 (tip411).
