Police: Man suspected of having whipped a person with a pistol in Encanto; was then stabbed by the victim

A young man who suffered from stab wounds when he showed up at the hospital over the weekend is set to be arrested and charged with being whipped with a pistol, San Diego police have said.
The 18-year-old suspect used a gun to strike a person during an argument at an Encanto home just after 6 p.m. Sunday, officer Robert Heims said.
The victim stabbed her attacker three times in self-defense, Heims said.
The man with the gun ran out of the house, on Alderley Street south of Skyline Drive, and someone took him to hospital for treatment for his stab wounds.
The 18-year-old will be arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for the alleged pistol whipping, Heims said. The man had not been imprisoned Monday noon.
