Police investigating school after discovery of swastika scrawled on the back of a student’s chair, with parents fearing their children are being brainwashed into anti-Semitism by pro-Palestinian activists

A swastika scribbled by a student in a classroom has raised parents’ fears that their children are being brainwashed into anti-Semitism by pro-Palestinian activists.

Crude graffiti at a Brighton prison was investigated by police last night.

The image, drawn with a marker on the back of a plastic chair, has been visible at Patcham high school for several weeks.

Alarmed Jewish parents alerted the principal this weekend to the “frightening” development.

A family with children at the school said: “Students have been targeted by pro-Palestinian activists in our area. They have been making massive efforts to radicalize British children into anti-Semitic hatred since Hamas invaded Israel on October 7.

One father said: “We are afraid of the future. He added that the swastika should not be blamed on Palestinian or Muslim pupils, saying: “It is local English children who are being caught up in this radicalization by Palestinian militants.” »

The Mail received a photo of the graffiti, which bizarrely includes the words “Bring back 1945” – the year the Nazis were defeated – after investigating anti-Semitism among school-age youngsters in Brighton and towns across the south coast, notably Hove and Hastings.

Parents say their children are called “stinking Jews” by students. Some return home as their classmates chant “From the river to the sea,” a pro-Palestinian slogan demanding the extinction of Israel.

In one case, parents say, a Jewish child was kicked in the face by students in a row because of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Members of a local Jewish family said: “Pro-Palestinian activists have taken over Brighton’s social life, from youth theater troupes to multicultural events.

“They use them to peddle very extreme opinions to children about a vision of the conflict in Gaza.

“This anti-Semitic propaganda has spread to the students. We are not doing enough to stop radicalization.

The Mail has received further photographs from an event on March 9 at the Brighton Dome, organized by a local women’s center and attended by children. It shows participants being asked to color drawings of Palestinian activists.

One of the activists they considered was Ahed Tamimi, among 30 prisoners released by Israel last November as part of an attempted truce deal with the terrorist group Hamas.

Patcham’s manager declined to comment last night.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “Officers from the Brighton Neighborhood Policing Team attended the school to carry out further inquiries.

“Sussex Police takes hate crime extremely seriously.”
